HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. The names of HOLA members and Friends of HOLA are listed below in boldface. To see what other HOLA members are doing currently, click here.

Andrea Navedo, shown at right, was profiled in an article by Robert Domínguez in the New York Daily News, where she spoke of her role as actor and co-producer in the Nicava Entertainment/Chelsea Repertory production of Jerry Sterner's Other People's Money. The play, directed by John Grabowski, runs through August at Shetler 54 Theatre in the theater district of midtown Manhattan. To read the article, click here.

Joel Pérez, was featured, along with the rest of the cast of the Kron-Tesori Broadway musical Fun Home (based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel), in The New York Times, when the company performed a special benefit performance of the show at the
Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in Orlando, Florida six weeks after the tragic mass shooting in the city's Pulse nightclub. To read the essay written by cast member (and Tony Award winner) Michael Cerveris (where Pérez is seen seated, center, of the article's main photo), click here.

Jeannie Sol, shown at left, will be performing her solo show An Evening With Jeannie (a collaboration between her and writer-director Andrés Chulisi Rodríguez). The actress-comedienne-chanteuse will perform her show for one night only, on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at the world-famous The Stonewall Inn in Manhattan's West Village. Caridad de la Luz (also known by her nom de poésie et de musique La Bruja) performed her poetry at Honoring Latinas reception, which took place in August at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel as part of the joint convention of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) in Washington, District of Columbia. Video of two of her poems can be seen in the videos below.
