HOLA Member Bochinche

Bochinche refers to “gossip”. In this sense, we use it to mention HOLA members or Friends of HOLA who are getting acting, performance or similarly artistic gigs and/or recognition in the media. Due to popular demand, the solo show An Evening with Jeanniestarring Jeannie Sol, shown at right, has added an additional performance. The actress-comedienne-chanteuse will perform her show, a collaboration with writer-director Andrés Chulisi Rodríguez, on Sunday, August 21, 2016 and Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the world-famous The Stonewall Inn in Manhattan's West Village. A.B. Lugo will be co-starring in the William Shakespeare play The Merchant of Venice. Directed by Alberto Bonilla, the production will take place in September at The Secret Theatre in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens. The Judith Escalona feature film Bx3M is about to present its first in a series of community screenings. The film will be screened on Friday, September 23, 2016 in the Lincoln Hospital Theater, located in the Mott Haven area of the South Bronx and will be followed by a Q&A session. The feature film stars Mónica Delgado, Jazmín Caratini, Mario Eusebio, Javier Márquez, Ayanery Reyes, Izzy Ruiz, Jorge Luna, Edmi De Jesús, Berto Colón, Greg Purnhagen, Marlyn Matías, Elizabeth Marrero, and David Ponce. Esteban Rodríguez Alverio, shown at left, is co-starring in the play H.O.M.E. Written by Angélica Rivera and Marvin Tran, and directed by Daniel Echevarria, the play will run in August and September at the New Ohio Theatre, located in Manhattan's West Village.
